Cancellation & Refund Policy
When a made-to-order sheet metal job can still be cancelled, and how refunds work.
Last updated 7 September 2026
Sheet metal parts are made to your drawing. Once a partner has cut your material, it is your part and nobody else's — it cannot be restocked or resold. That single fact is what shapes this policy, and it is why the point at which you can still cancel matters so much.
1. Before you pay
Nothing is committed. Delete the quote, empty the cart, or simply leave — no charge, no cancellation to request.
2. After you pay, before the job is dispatched
Paid orders are not dispatched to a manufacturing partner instantly. Until that dispatch happens, no material has been committed and cancelling costs nobody anything.
You may cancel for a full refund within 24 hours of payment, provided the order has not yet been dispatched to a partner. Your order page shows the current status; anything still marked Confirmed has not been dispatched.
In practice we are generous with this: if you email quickly and the metal has not been cut, we will usually cancel and refund in full even outside the window. Ask.
How to cancel
Email operations@tensorcut.in with your order number, or call +91-9731780732. There is no self-service cancel button for a paid order — we would rather a person confirmed where your job actually is than have a button guess.
3. Once the job is in production
After an order is dispatched and a partner has accepted it, material is committed and cutting is scheduled. From this point we cannot offer a general right to cancel.
Email us anyway. Depending on how far the job has gone we may be able to refund part of it — typically the finishing, setup and delivery components that have not yet been incurred, less the material and machine time already spent. We will tell you the figure before anything is processed, and we will show you how it is made up.
Once parts have shipped, an order cannot be cancelled. What follows applies instead.
4. If the parts are wrong
This is not a cancellation and the section above does not apply to it. If we supplied something other than what you ordered, we fix it at our cost.
That covers:
- the wrong material, grade or thickness;
- dimensions that do not match the file you uploaded;
- the wrong quantity;
- a finish that was not applied, or was applied wrongly;
- defective workmanship — cracking, gross distortion, incomplete cuts;
- parts damaged in transit.
Tell us within 7 days of delivery, at operations@tensorcut.in, with your order number and photographs of the problem. We will either remake the order at no charge or refund it in full — your choice. We may ask for the parts back; if we do, we pay the return freight.
What is not a defect
So there is no argument later, these are normal characteristics of thermal cutting rather than faults:
- kerf width, and the taper it leaves on thicker sections;
- a heat-affected zone and discolouration at the cut edge;
- light dross on the underside, particularly on plasma-cut plate;
- ordinary surface marks on mill-supplied stock;
- dimensional variation within general fabrication tolerances for the process.
Equally, a part that was made correctly to a drawing that turned out to be wrong is not a defect. We manufacture what the file describes and do not alter it. If you are unsure whether your design will work, ask us before you order.
5. If we cancel
Occasionally we cancel an order ourselves — no partner has capacity for the material or gauge, the drawing turns out to be unmanufacturable, or a pricing error made the quote plainly wrong. In every one of those cases you get a full refund, and we tell you why.
6. How a refund reaches you
- Refunds go back to the original payment method, through Razorpay. We cannot send them anywhere else — that restriction is the payment provider's, and it is also what protects you.
- We initiate approved refunds within 2 working days of agreeing them.
- Your bank or card issuer then takes typically 5 to 7 working days to post it. That part is outside our control.
- You will get an email when the refund is initiated. If it has not appeared after 10 working days, contact us with your order number and we will chase it.
- Refunds include the GST charged on the refunded amount.
